About CGseq

CGseq is a scientific research and education platform exploring genetics, genomics, and biology at the cellular level.

We explore how advances in sequencing and molecular research help scientists understand gene expression, cellular identity, biological variation, and disease mechanisms.

Our content brings together accessible explanations of single-cell RNA sequencing, genomics, transcriptomics, genetic research, and emerging sequencing technologies, connecting fundamental concepts with current scientific research.

CGseq is designed to make complex genomic research easier to explore, understand, and connect — from individual genes and cells to broader biological processes.

Our Goals

Understanding Genomics at Single-Cell Resolution

Traditional genomic studies often analyze biological samples as a whole, which can make differences between individual cells difficult to detect. Single-cell genomics and single-cell RNA sequencing provide a more detailed view by allowing researchers to study genetic information and gene expression at the level of individual cells.

By examining thousands of cells separately, researchers can identify distinct cell types, cellular states, gene-expression patterns, and heterogeneous cell populations within the same tissue. These approaches are increasingly used to investigate development, immunity, cancer, neurological disorders, genetic diseases, and other complex biological processes.

CGseq explores how single-cell sequencing, transcriptomics, genomics, and computational analysis are helping researchers move from population-level measurements toward a more precise understanding of cellular biology.

From Cells to Data

Step 1 — Isolate cells

Individual cells or nuclei are prepared for molecular analysis.

Step 2 — Capture RNA

Messenger RNA is captured and converted into complementary DNA for sequencing.

Step 3 — Generate data

Sequencing produces reads that can be processed into a gene-expression matrix.

Step 4 — Analyze cell populations

Computational methods help researchers identify cell clusters, investigate gene expression, and interpret cellular diversity.
